Nintendo & Koei Tecmo have revealed new details about Fatal Frame 5, AKA Fatal Frame Wii U. It is now being called Zero: Nuregarasu no Miko, which according to Polygon is translated to Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden in English. It is scheduled to be released in Japan on September 27th, 2014. No dates have been announced for North America or Europe thus far.
The main character in the Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden will be named Kozukata Yuuri, She will possess the ability to see ghosts that have entered into the so-called “Ghost World.” She’ll also be able to bring them back if she visits a mountain known as Mount Hikamiyama. Koei Tecmo calls this the “mountain of death.” This basically means people can go here to cross from the plane of the living into the plane of the dead.
Like other Fatal Frame games, players will use an in-game camera to capture departed souls. The Wii U GamePad will be used to control the camera and capture the ghosts.
Koei Tecmo also reconfirmed plans to release new products based on the Fatal Frame universe: a book, comic books, and a live-action movie.
